Fallout 3 is an open world game created by Bethesda Softworks for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. The game's setting is based in a post-apocalyptic Washington D.C. that was ravaged by a nuclear war between the USA and China. Because of the world's destruction, there are many strange places that harbour myths.

Vanilla Game

Myth 1: Dunwich Building

The Dunwich Building is one of the most weirdest places in Fallout 3. Its corridors are dark and skeletons lay around every corner. Deep inside, hidden in the basement, stand distasterous creations from failed experiments. It is believed that many ghosts are located in the ruins of the buildings.

Myth 2: Subway Tunnels

The subway tunnels of Fallout 3 spread all across the city. Like most places in the game, the tunnels are destroyed and dark. Creatures of all types, mainly Feral Ghouls, can be found in the tunnels making travelling around them a bit more difficult. Chills are sent down ones spine while walking around them. Screaching noises can be heard frequently.

Myth 3: Pint-Sized Slasher

PintSizedSlasher-Creature

The Pint-Sized Slasher killing a resident.

The Pint-Sized Slasher was a 21st century pre-war child serial killer who wore a clown mask and a black and white striped shirt. A large chef knife was his signature killing tool. The Player takes control as this killer during the mission "Tranquility Lane" as the Player has the option to kill all the residents while posing as the child.

Myth 4: Arlington Cemetery Ghost

The Arlington Cemetery Ghost is a myth originating around the Arlington Cemetery, a place where many soldiers from America's wars are buried. It is believed that a ghost haunts the cemetery and the Arlington House located at the top of the cemetery.

Myth 5: Aliens

Aliens are a real myth in Fallout 3. A crased alien spaceship can be found north of Greener Pastures Disposal Site. Next to the spaceship is a dead alien along with an Alien laser pistol. If the player has the DLC Mothership Zeta, reaching the site will cause a UFO to lift the player up and take them into the ship. Inside, there are many aliens. The player must kill the aliens and make their way through the spaceship to escape. Aliens are also present in Fallout: New Vegas.

DLC

Myth 1: Witch

The Witch(es) is a myth found in the swamps of Fallout 3's DLC Point Lookout. It is believed that a witch who possibly believes in voodoo lurks the swamps as voodoo dolls can be seen hanging from trees and posts around the swamp.
